The investigation into the accident which claimed the lives of two teens on Sept. 4 continues.
Cimarron County Sheriff Keith Borth said his office in conjunction with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, are trying to determine if alcohol was a factor in the accident.
The officers are also trying to determine if there were more passengers in the SUV stolen from a parking lot at the high school.
Borth has made a decision that his office will more stringently enforce laws about underage drinking and driving under the influence.
“I know I'm probably going to make some people mad. But I'd rather have them in my office griping than in a church crying,” Borth said.
Borth also encouraged anyone with information about the accident to contact his office.
The only arrest made in connection to the accident, was on Richard Neatherlin, 18, an occupant of the vehicle. Neatherlin, who had just recently been placed on five years probation for concealing stolen property and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, was arrested on an application to accelerate the sentence.
