Boise City area youths graduate from Youth Leadership Oklahoma
Oklahoma City- Upcoming seniors, Summer James and Marla Tevebaugh graduated from Youth Leadership Oklahoma's Class VI on Friday, June 9, in Oklahoma City .
They were selected to be in the group of 53 youths based on demonstrated leadership in their schools and communities. Leadership Oklahoma created YLOK with a mission to develop young leaders who feel hope, pride and responsibility for Oklahoma 's future.
The weeklong program began in Enid at the Enid Symphony Center and concluded at the Phillips Pavilion on the grounds of the governor's mansion. Other locations visited throughout the week included Weatherford, Elk City, Sayre, Woodward, Mooreland, Calumet, Chickasha, Lawton - Fort Sill, Burns Flat and Norman. At each location YLOK Class VI learned about Oklahoma 's resources, issues and treasures, met with state leaders and further developed their own leadership skills.
“ Oklahoma will benefit from these wonderful youth who believe in our state and the possibilities for it's future,” said Leadership Oklahoma CEO, Ann Ackerman, Ph.D. They are young leaders who are excited about Oklahoma and will lead Oklahomans to be dedicated to this great state and their communities.”
