County voter registration ends Friday
Friday, Aug. 19, is the last day to apply for voter's registration in order to be eligible to vote in the special state and county election on Sept. 13.
Election board Secretary Vicki Turner said that individuals who are at least 18 years of age, are American citizens and residents of Oklahoma, may apply.
Individuals who have never registered to vote, or those not currently registered in the county of their residence, or those needing to change their registration information may also apply by filling out and mailing an Oklahoma Voter's Registration form before midnight, on Aug. 19. Applications postmarked after that time will be accepted and processed, but not approved until after the Sept. 13 election.
The board will respond in writing to each person who submits an application for voter's registration. The response will either be a voter's identification card listing the new voter's precinct number and polling location, or a letter that explains the reason(s) the application was not approved.
“Any voter who has submitted a voter registration application and not received a response within 30 days should contact the County Election Board office,” Turner said.
Voter application forms are available at the Cimarron county Election Board office located in the basement of the Cimarron County Courthouse. If the office is closed applications will be available in the holder on the door or down the hall at the Tag Office.
