Sheriff ‘s conference Cimarron County Sheriff Keith Borth, accompanied by his wife Bonnie, attended the annual Oklahoma Sheriffs' conference in Tulsa on Aug. 10-13. Borth attended training sessions totaling 16 hours and covering such subjects as Media Relations, Forensic Investigations, and Jail Administration. Borth said that throughout the state, counties are experiencing financial difficulties, and Sheriff Departments seem to be having the most problems with lack of funds. The Sheriffs in attendance exchanged ideas about jail upgrades, improvements, equipment, (especially vehicles), and funding. Borth, like every Oklahoma County Sheriff, is constantly looking for state agencies to help him upgrade his equipment. The Borths attended the Sheriffs' Appreciation Night at the Perryman Ranch on Thursday night and attended the Awards Banquet at the conclusion of the conference on Saturday night. Boise City News |
