Sample Ballots available
Sample ballots are now available at the Cimarron County Election Board Office for voters wanting a preview of next Tuesday's Runoff-Primary Election.
The ballots may be viewed at the election board office in the Courthouse basement. The office hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Sample Ballots will also be visible outside each polling place.
Special Assistance offered
Special assistance will be offered to four groups of voters at the Aug. 22 runoff primary.
F Physically disabled voters who cannot enter the polling place.
F Those needing help in marking their ballots.
F Those who are blind or visually disabled.
F Those who are illiterate.
Each of these individuals may have assistance, from someone not their employer or an agent of the employer or union. That individual must also swear or affirm that the voter's wishes will be honored in marking the ballot.
Voters who have moved but not yet changed their registration may do so at the polling place; and the next of kin of a recently deceased voter may have their name taken from the rolls.
Voters wishing to vote by absentee ballot have missed their opportunity to apply for a ballot to be mailed.
However, they may still vote absentee at the election board office on Friday Aug. 18 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. , Saturday Aug. 19, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Monday Aug. 21 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. .
In person absentee voters will complete an application form when they arrive at the office. The voter's identification and registration will be verified and a ballot issued.
No reason to vote absentee is needed, but they are required to swear or affirm that they have not voted by mail and that they will not vote on election day
