Corporate sponsors vital to area cancer fight
The Hooker Advance
Out in the world, corporations and businesses are sometimes viewed as distant, hard and cold but here in the Panhandle, it's a different atmosphere.
The Panhandle produces businesses and business owners and managers who can be depended upon to answer the call of community and the call to fight cancer.
Corporate sponsorship is vital to the success of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life in Texas County .
The event is a grass roots effort to eradicate suffering and death from cancer through a fun fund-raiser. The ACS Relay For Life draws people together against an all-too-common enemy to fund medical research, direct-to-patient services, state and national advocacy and public awareness and education.
Building on the support of local and area corporate sponsors including those from Cimarron County , volunteers will host the 11th annual ACS Texas County Relay For Life in Guymon July 28-29.
Platinum sponsors have generously given $800 or more in cash or services. Other levels are the gold sponsorship at $500 to $799, the silver sponsorship at $250-$499 and the bronze sponsorship at $150 to $249.
This funding underwrites the event which asks Relay For Life team members to work together or as individuals to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
To celebrate their success, the ACS Relay For Life in Texas County will be held from 7 p.m. Friday, July 28 through the night to 7 a.m. Saturday, July 29 at the Carl and Lou McKinnon Football Field in Guymon.
Also during the Relay For Life, participants remember friends and family who have died from cancer and honor cancer survivors.
