Boise City girl selected for Youth Leadership Forum
Kalei Kirkendall, a senior at Boise City High School in Boise City , Okla. , has been selected as one of seventeen delegates to attend the Oklahoma Youth Leadership Forum.
The third annual YLF will be held June 12-16, at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha , Okla. YLF is sponsored by the Oklahoma Developmental Disabilities Council.
It is a unique leadership training program for promising high school juniors and seniors with disabilities. Student delegates from across Oklahoma who are selected to attend YLF will develop important leadership and citizenship skills in the hope that they will eventually reach their life and career goals. The goal of the Oklahoma YLF is to prepare students with disabilities for life after high school.
To be eligible to attend the YLF, a student must be in the 10th or llth grade and returning to high school for the 2006-07 school year, have a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act, and be an Oklahoma resident.
