I have mentioned several times that processed sugars cause a majority of our health problems. Problems like diabetes, high triglycerides, heart disease, bone loss to name a few. The biggest culprit is high-fructose corn syrup which is used the most in sodas, fruit juices, cookies, gum, jellies, and baked goods. It is cheaper than pure cane sugar so it is the most common processed sugar in manufactured foods. Researchers suggest that fructose contributes not only to the above problems, but also weight gain. Be aware that a product that spouts “low fat” or “no fat” may have a great deal of sugar. Limit your consumption of sugars and you will find an increase in energy and health. Get back to basics and consider your choices for good health. Sources are www.mercola.com Boise City News |
