Cimarron County Commissioners re-instate burn ban The Cimarron County commission on Monday, re-instated the burn ban lifted by Governor Brad Henry. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Cimarron County , Oklahoma has the power to declare an emergency under the recommendations of the Emergency Operations Plan. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Cimarron County , Oklahoma has the authority and power to impose a burn ban within Cimarron County , and whereas, the Board of County Commissioners of Cimarron County , Oklahoma has declared that an emergency situation has arisen due to drought conditions within Cimarron County . THEREFORE, after due consideration, the Board of County Commissioners of Cimarron County, Oklahoma is implementing a ban on all outdoor burning for the rural areas within Cimarron County until further notice. This ban is to include all private fireworks displays of any type. Any willful violation of this ban will cause severe financial sanctions to be imposed upon the violator to include, but not limited to actual costs incurred to extinguish the fire and any civil remedies pursued by victims of such willful negligence or indifference to this resolution.
