Using Medications Safely...

A program entitled titled: Using Medications Safely - A Key Ingredient to Your Health will be coining to each Nutrition Site/Senior Center throughout the OEDA region during the month of May. The second program in this series will be held at 10:45 a.m. May 11 , at the Boise City Nutrition Site/Senior Center, 216 NE First, in Boise City .

The session leader will be Mark A. Stratton, Pharm D, Professor of Pharmacy, College of Pharmacy , University of Oklahoma . This program is a one hour session that is intended to empower older people through education to be more active participant when it comes to making decisions about medications. It is through this process that older people will, hopefully, experience fewer complications from their medications. The program discusses the scope and causes of medication management related problems in the elderly and solutions that older people should engage in to minimize their likelihood of experiencing complications from their drug therapy, Dr. Stratton will be sharing “Medication Safety Tips for Seniors”, and special handouts and MedFiles will be given to those who attend. We encourage senior citizens of the area to attend. For more information, contact the OEDA Area Agency on Aging at 1-800-658-2844 or (580) 625-4531
