Henry Barnes scholarship goes to BCHS Senior Laura Torres
From the many excellent applications submitted by Cimarron County 2006 High School seniors, Laura Torres of Boise City was selected to receive the second Henry Barnes Memorial Scholarship established by Granny's Kids.
Laura will receive $10,000.00 annually to cover the cost of tuition and fees, room and board, books, travel and other school expenses related to obtaining a Bachelor's degree at any accredited college or university in the United States .
The scholarship is renewable for a maximum of four years as long as Laura completes a minimum of fifteen credit hours per semester with a grade point average of at least 2.75 (on a four point scale).
In addition, Laura will be required to demonstrate high ethical standards and civic involvement to continue receiving the benefits of this scholarship.
We trust that Laura, having demonstrated her steadfast character in the application process, will succeed in the Henry Barnes Memorial Scholarship program.
The Henry Barnes Memorial Scholarship committee would like to thank all the Cimarron County 2006 High School seniors who submitted applications along with their essays and letters of recommendation.
