Quilts for Wounded Soldiers update...
The Trails of Thread Quilters packed and prepared 45 red/white/blue quilts to be mailed to Betheseda, Maryland for the “Quilts for Wounded Soldiers” program. These quilts will be some of the hundreds received from all over the country that will be given to our wounded men and women soldiers as they arrive in the U.S. for treatment.
No Man's Land Beef Jerky paid all the shipping and for this we say -“Thank You”. With their generosity we still have remaining funds for construction of additional quilts.
We would like to thank the following who have graciously donated to this loving cause since our last update - Fran Armstrong, JoAnn Wells, Vickie Taylor, Fred Crews, David Crawford, Ralph Hyde, Paul and Dorothy Kohler, Verna Faye Wright, Pam Wiley, Debbie Kincannon, Ruth Atkins, Opal Burton, Jan Gerald, Eugene Power. Thank you for helping us do a small part for our soldiers.
With the remaining funds and since Betheseda Naval Hospital has asked us to wait to construct more quilts for their program, the Trails of Thread Quilters would ask that anyone having close relatives involved or who have been involved in the current middle east conflict, contact our group. We would like to present the soldier's families with a quilt of hope or to present the soldier a quilt of their own. Donations remaining following this request, will be used to purchase phone cards and supplies to be sent overseas.
Please contact any Trails of Thread Quilters members, Lois Garner 580-544-2878, Rita Hinds 580-546-2747, Mary Crabtree 580-544-2985; Carol Harper 580-544-2758 or at PO Box 1081, Boise City, OK 73933 to give us the name(s) of your heroes who have been abroad.
