Livestock show set to open
This Thursday, March 2, marks the opening of the 2006 Cimarron County Junior Stock Show.
The stock will be weighed in and registered from 6 to 7 p.m on Thursday night.
The judging of Market Lambs begins at 9 a.m. , followed by Market Goats.
At 10 a.m. , Market Swine will move through the ring for their turn at judging.
Market heifers will begin moving into the ring at 1 p.m. , followed immediately by Market Steers.
At 9 a.m. on Saturday, the students in 4-H and the FFA will take to the ring and livestock barn for the Educational Judging Contest.
At 1 p.m. , the Exhibitors will put on their best, as they try to coax every dollar out of those bidding at the Premium Auction.
The concession stand will be open, and the servers will be from the Keyes and Boise City 4-H Clubs. On Friday, from 8 to 5, stew and cornbread will be served. On Saturday, from 8:30 to the end of the sale, there will be chili, Frito Pie, and chili dogs; with homemade desserts each day consisting of cakes, pies and brownies.
The show is sponsored by the Cimarron County Livestock Board, comprised of President Lon Davis, Vice-President Rick Brakhage, Treasurer David Prather, and Members-at-large, Jim Spake, and Steve Kraich.
