Cimarron County Spring Stock Show set for March 3-5
New county stock show brings market goats into competition
Cimarron County's new Spring Stock Show, sponsored by the Cimarron County Livestock Show Board, is set to kick off on March 3 with livestock entries and weigh-in from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Cimarron County Fairgrounds.
Any animal failing to make eligible weight will not be allowed to show.
All exhibitors must reside in the county, be a member in 4-H or FFA and meet academic eligibility.
The show, long part of the Cimarron county Free Fair, was moved to the Spring so the exhibitors had opportunities at scholarship shows at Tulsa and the Oklahoma State Fair.
The new show will add one event, market goats.
At 9 a.m. on Friday, March 4, the judging begins with market lambs followed by market goats at 10 a.m.
At 1 p.m. judging will begin again with breeding heifers followed by market steers.
At 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 5 the last day of the show begins with 4-H and FFA members honing their talents during the educational judging contest.
The premium auction will follow at 1 p.m., animals will be sold at a per head basis, (Premium only). one animal per exhibitor with the exception of an exhibitor having two animals placing in the top five of any species.
