BOISE CITY COMPETES IN NOC QUIZ BOWL
Following a disappointing 315-50 loss to Cimarron in the Northern Oklahoma College High School Academic Quiz Bowl, the Boise City Quiz Bowl team battled back in the loser's bracket, romping over Perry, 270-45; squeaking by Deer Creek-Lamont, 195-185 and trouncing Drumright, 310-135 before finally falling to Pioneer, 180-115.
Boise City team members were juniors Jonathan Faulkner, Summer James and Tori Willett and sophomores Destry Elms, Denisse Hernandez and Kyle Wilson. Tammy Crabtree coached the team.
Twenty-two high schools competed in the double elimination Quiz Bowl tourney on the Tonkawa campus Jan. 5. Winners were Drummond, first; Edmond Home School second; and Kremlin-Hillsdale, third. Selected as All-Stars were Sam Engleman, Beaver; Shawn Hollopeter, Copan ; Shannon Rodenberg and Tyler Hoeltzel, Drummond; Brady Juengel, Edmond Home School ; and Bobbi Lakin, Kremlin -Hillsdale.
