Announcing the Neva Sizemore Memorial Scholarship
The college Scholarship created in honor of the late Neva Sizemore, a long-time resident of Keyes, is once again being offered to any senior graduating from a Cimarron County High School in 2007.
This Scholarship provides $10,000.00 annually for four years of undergraduate study toward a Bachelor's degree at any accredited college or university in the United States . Please note : All direct descendants of Neva Sizemore are ineligible to apply for this Scholarship.
Academic achievement is important, and the applicant's grades will be considered, but this scholarship recognizes that grades are not the only measure of a person's aptitude or dedication. This scholarship will be awarded to the student that demonstrates the desire and capability to complete a four-year college degree.
Students are required to submit an application, an essay, and three letters of recommendation by January 31, 2007 . An independent selection committee has been established, and the Scholarship decision will be announced on or before March 15, 2007 .
To maintain eligibility for funds, the student must complete at least fifteen credit hours per semester with a grade point average of at least 2.75 (on a four point scale). Each semester, the recipient will be required to submit a report showing that he or she is in compliance with these requirements. Failure to report or meet these standards will result in the withholding of funds until the student can demonstrate compliance.
High value of ethical behavior and civic involvement is required for continued participation in the benefits of this scholarship. Therefore, being convicted of a felony, drug distribution or possession, or DUI or DWI will permanently disqualify a student from the program. Similarly, being found guilty of academic dishonesty by the college or university will result in permanent disqualification.
Students may obtain the application from their respective High School or by sending an email to email@example.com.
