County responds to nation's wounded
by Iris Imler
The Trails of Thread Quilt Club would like to thank those who have donated money, fabric, time, and assistance in the “Quilts for Wounded Soldiers” project. As of Sunday, Nov. 28 we counted 48 lap and larger quilts in various stages. Some are completed while some tops are waiting quilting or binding. Our target date for shipment of 25 is the second week in January so as to miss the holiday mail. Several people have assisted the quilt club on weekends at the Family and Consumer Science Class at Boise City High School and many are working at home on the quilts. We would like to thank the following for their assistance and donations: Home Culture Club, Judy Potter, First State Bank of Boise City, Donald and Ruby Dunagan, Wes and Traci Woolman, Ethel Snapp, Donna Brown, Vicki Taylor, Cecil and Pat Myers, Joy Cochran, Wayne & Rita Montgomery, Pam's, Eva Dixon, Lois Burkhalter, Carol Mills, Stephanie Bosell, Gerry Snapp, Lois Stansell, Dortha Dell Kincannon, Gwynne Shank, Gladys Miller, Fern Wilson, Susan Spake, Mel Crawford, Amy Crawford, Laveta Parker, Lana Soell, Sunshine Elementary of Liberal, Ks., Shirley Cameron, Nancy Stalder, Bernie Derrick, Iris Imler, Joyce Randolph, Iolline Leach, Mary Crabtree, Mary Desbien, Lena Alexander, Bobbye Nell Thompson, Linda Gray, Kathy Burger, Charlene Wilson, Ora Marie Hanes, Carol Harper, Marie Williams, Dianna James, Janet Barnes, Cerita Walker, Vonnie Thrall, Ethel Murdock, Mari Lee Frieberger, Sheila Mason. If I have missed anyone, I apologize and do let me know. This will be an ongoing project for approx. a year should funds and donations of fabric allow. The Naval Medical Center requested 20 – 25 at a time, of course, depending on the war efforts. We pray we soon will not need “Quilts for Wounded Soldiers”. Donations are still being accepted at First State Bank of Boise City, any Trails of Thread Quilt Club member or call Iris Imler (580)544-3217.
