Volunteers needed for panel combating drunk driving

The Victims' Impact Panel of Oklahoma, a non-profit organization, whose mission is drunk driving awareness, prevention and healing has been serving Oklahoma for the last 16 years. VIP is searching for volunteers who have been affected by an alcohol-related incident, who would be willing to speak to DUI offenders and Oklahoma high schools and colleges.

In the United States alone there is one person killed every 32 minutes from a drinking and driving crash. Looking into the eyes of just one victim's family member, or one drunk driver that might have killed an Innocent person, or one rescue professional that was at the scene of the crash, you can see the pain and anguish that person will have to live with for the rest of his/her life.

According to VIP Assistant director for Northwest Oklahoma , “We realize and understand that speaking about something so personal is very hard and sometimes uncomfortable. But we have also learned from other speakers that they find a unique healing experience in sharing their stories with others.” Victims' Impact Panel offers support groups with other victims, offenders and rescue professionals to help learn how to cope with the tragedy and hear from others who understand their pain.
