Early morning accident injures Amarillo man

A traffic accident early Monday morning 1.9 miles west of Boise City
on State Highway 325, sent an Amarillo man to the hospital with leg
injuries. Louis Whittenberg, 57, of Amarillo was westbound on 325 when
he collided with a tractor-trailer rig.
According to a spokesperon for the Oklahoma Highway patrol, the truck,
a 2002 Freightliner, was driven by Ms. Marisela Neff, of York Penn.,
and was attempting to turn around when it become stuck. At that point
Whittenberg in a 1997 GMC pickup truck hit the trailer of the stalled
truck. Whittenberg was pinned in the wreckage for an hour and a half
before being extricated.
Transported to Cimarron Memorial Hospital, Whittenberg was treated and
stabilized for leg injuries before being transferred to Northwest Texas
Hospital in Amarillo, where he is listed in stable condition.
