Brown leaves board of Cimarron Memorial

Cimarron Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home board member Cheri Brown has become the second member to resign in less than a week.

According to Cimarron County Clerk Coleen Crabtree, Brown tendered her resignation to the Cimarron County Commissioners on Monday.

"We will put that, those resignations on the agenda for next week," Crabtree said. Crabtree said Brown's resignation was brief, reading that she regretted that she must terminate her membership as of Dec. 31, 2003. Brown gave no reason in the letter for her resignation.

Board member Janice Smith resigned last Tuesday citing philosophic differences with the other board members.
Board member Judy Dawson's term expires on Jan. 1, leaving the County Commissioners the task of replacing at least three on the five-person board.

Chairman Alan Shields and Vice-chair Richard Hitchings remain. Efforts to contact Brown were not successful.
