Tri-County Electric CEO releases statement about proposed purchase
Hooker- Tri-County Electric CEO Jack Perkins released the following statement on Monday, regarding the cooperative's proposed purchase of service territory from Xcel Energy. “Last month, Tri-County Electric announced it had signed a definitive agreement with Xcel Energy to purchase service territory in several towns in the states of Oklahoma , Kansas and Texas . Although we have signed an agreement the sale is not yet final . Xcel Energy could continue to serve its customers in this region through the third quarter of 2006.
This sale will not be complete until it receives regulatory approval. Tri-County Electric is working with regulators in a variety of jurisdictions to secure approval for this transaction.
