Felt Bulldogs split two at Texline Tourney

Felt's lady Bulldogs fell to Channing, Texas, 51-25 at the Texline Tournament last week.

Allen scored 11, Bass, seven, Herber, five and Mason two.

The Bulldog boys took their revenge for the lady Bulldogs loss, tearing up the Channing boys 60-47.

Bass scored 40 points, Newton, 10, Maness, four, and Butt and Thrash, three each.

 

 

Keyes J. H. roundballers compete in Yarbrough Tournament

The Keyes junior high girls came up second best to Texhoma's Lady Red Devils in the finals of the Yarbrough Tournament Saturday.

The Lady Pirates had knocked off Texhoma earlier in the competition, 31-14, with Cayton scoring ten, Davis six and Janko, seven.

On Thursday, the Lady Pirates knocked off Yarbrough's Lady Lobos, 35-22, with Collins scoring 19, Cayton ten and Durham, four.

The Lady Red Devils came back in the championship round and roasted the Lady Pirates, 32-25 to take home the first place trophy.

In that event Collins scored nine, Cayton and Janko six each, and Durham four.

 

Boys battle for third

The Keyes junior high Pirates, lost out for third place to Boise City's Wildcats in the tourney.

On Monday, the Pirates robbed Texhoma's Red Devils, of a victory, 32-25.

Elliot Fry scored 12, Derek Fry ten, Valencia, ten.

On Thursday, Yarbrough's Lobos bit the Pirates, 36-24, with Elliot Fry scoring 17, Valencia four and Balenseifen three.

On Saturday night's game for third, the Wildcats slashed the Pirates 37-25, Derek Fry scored 13, Valencia and Balenseifen six each.

 

 

Pirate girls and boys crush Balko

The Keyes High Pirate girls and boys teams took two victories on the road against Balko on Friday night.

The lady Pirates, behind the accurate shooting of Lowe, Gardner, and Fry, took Balko to the floor, 68-39.

Lowe led the scoring with 19 points; behind her came Gardner with 14 and Fry with 12.

Cochran added another nine, Crews dropped in five, and Moser, Jones and Rojo popped the net with three each.

The lady Pirates hit 16 of 39 two pointers for an average of 41 percent; nine of 26 three-point shots for 35 percent and nine of 14 attempts and the charity line for an average of 64 percent.

 

Pirates overcome half-time deficit

The Pirate boys went into the locker room on Friday night trailing Balko 24-19 before playing inspired in the second half to knock off the Beaver County team 50-45.

Barnes led the Pirates with 16 points followed closely by Alderette with 14 and Grazier with 12; Coleman added three and Hinds had two.

The Pirates hit nine of 26 two pointers for 35 percent, nine of 19 three pointers for 47 percent and just under half of their charity tosses, five of 12 for 42 percent.
