WISH UPON A STAR
As Thanksgiving rapidly approaches, it is the time of year for us to be thankful for the many blessings we have and to think of others. It is also the time to begin planning the Cody Munsch Memorial “Wish Upon a Star” program. This year a star will again be placed on the Christmas tree listing the child's needs and wishes for Christmas. The Salvation Army will accept and certify the applications for the program.
Last year we added to this program the names of 12 adults, most of which are elderly, in our county that are totally alone, at home and need to feel the blessings of this Season. The response was overwhelming and we've decided to continue that part of the program. Gifts such as houseslippers, inspirational tapes & books, clothing, coats and home made items such as cookies and pastries are recommended.
Sending this letter to you our supporters, gives us a chance to say “thank you” for your generosity in past years. Each year we have been able to help the children of Cimarron County . Last year with your help and support, we were able to provide 85 needy children with toys, clothing, coats and shoes. Every child that had a star was served.
Again this year, we would like to give you the opportunity to provide a Christmas gift for a needy child or lonely adult by:
1. Removing a Star from the tree.
a. Children's Stars will be on the door in the First State Bank of Boise City .
b. Stars for the Adults will be in the Branch Office of the First State Bank of Keyes located in Boise City
2. Purchasing a gift for the child or adult and bringing it to the Dept. of Human Services or Tag Agent located in the basement of the courthouse.
3. Cash contributions may be sent to Wish Upon a Star, Box 1133 , Boise City , OK 73933 or deposited at the First State Bank of Boise City .
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT
