October 13 last day for voter registration
According to Election Secretary Vicki Turner, Friday, Oct. 13, 2006 is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the General elections on Nov. 7.
Persons who are United States Citizens, residents of Oklahoma and at least 18 years old may apply to become registered voters.
Persons who have never been registered to vote, or those not currently registered in the county of their residence, or individuals who are registered but need to change their registration information may apply to register or change their name or address by filling out and mailing an Oklahoma Voter Registration Form.
It must be postmarked by midnight , Thursday October 12.
Applications postmarked after that date will be accepted and processed. However, the applications will not be approved until after the Nov. 7 elections.
The County Election Board will respond in writing to each individual who submits an application for voter registration. The response will either be a Voter Identification Card listing the voter's precinct number and polling place, location, or a letter that explains the reason(s) the application was not approved.
Any individual who has made an application and not been contacted within 30 days should contact the Cimarron County Election Board Office.
Voter registration forms are available at the county election board office located in the Cimarron County courthouse basement. If the office is closed there will be forms in the holder on the door. Applications are also available at the Cimarron County Tag Office, also located in the courthouse basement.
