You may have read a newspaper article on testing breath to detect diseases. Our breath contains 400 compounds that can be traced to determine health problems like they use blood tests. One good thing is that it doesn't hurt.
There are breath-based tools designed to detect breast cancer, lung cancer, tuberculosis, liver and kidney disease, vitamin deficiencies in children, and organ damage. The reason many of us have not had the test is because it is so expensive and results take longer to get back.
Side note: Bad breath is usually from bacteria on foods that are caught between our teeth, but it can also be a sign of other health problems such as gum disease, respiratory infection, sinus infection, diabetes, liver or kidney problems, and acid reflex to name a few. So let's catch a breath and get back to basics.
